When You Constantly Push Your Limits You Will Never Reach Them

Head To Chestnut Mountain Resort For An Unforgettable Family Adventure

Chestnut Mountain Resort is one of those rare places, where luxury and adventure come together to create the ultimate vacation destination the whole family will enjoy!

During the winter months Chestnut Mountain is one of the Midwest’s most popular ski resorts.  The slopes are meant for all levels of skiers and boarders to enjoy. The 475-foot vertical drop meanders 3,500 feet through 19 runs, ranging from novice to black diamond. 475 feet seems pretty steep, but don’t worry, we’ve got two quad chairs, four triple chairs, two conveyor lifts and one surface lift to get you back up to the top.

Chestnut Mountain’s winter terrain isn’t just great for skiers; it’s a winter playground for snowboarders as well. Transworld has chosen Chestnut Mountain as their top-rated Midwest snowboard park for three years running! The terrain park, the Farside, is the largest of its kind in the Midwest – containing more than 25 rails and an array of features, and is served by its own triple chair lift and surface lift.

During the summer months, the resort offers a wide variety of activities!

The resort has 19 different trails that are great for hiking and biking spread out over a seven acre area, the trails wind through dense forests, unique wetlands, and offers breathtaking views.

The kids will enjoy racing down the hill on the 2,050 foot Alpine slide!

The adrenaline junkies in your group, can fly high above the resort on the Soaring Eagle Zipline.  This 2 seater offers unrivaled panoramic views reaching 3 states.  The view is just as much of an attraction as the adrenaline rush itself.

After a day on the mountain, you can unwind on a Mississippi River Cruise. This 1.5 hour long cruise takes you for a scenic voyage down the mighty river where you’ll view wildlife, learn a bit of the area’s history, see geographical curiosities and glimpse the breathtaking riverscapes on one of the area’s most compelling adventures.  The captain fills you in with jokes and stories related to boating and Mark Twain.  The cruise is as much educational as it is entertaining.

If that wasn’t enough, there is also an 18 hole mini golf green, where you can practice you putting skills.

This gorgeous resort is nestled in the rolling hills of Galena, with beautiful views of the Mississippi River Valley.

There are two onsite restaurants offering amazing meals, with incredible views!  The Sunset Grille is for upscale dining while The Summit is a bar and grill with all your modern favorites.

Rooms run about $100 or more depending on the type and size of suite you choose. Each is equipped with a microwave, mini fridge, flat screen television, and a coffee maker.  There is also an indoor pool, sauna, and Jacuzzi.

Live music provides guests with entertainment during the  summer months, and oftentimes you will find a wedding taking place. Conferences and other banquets can also be planned, giving you many reasons to always come back.

Chestnut Mountain Resort is located at 8700 W Chestnut Road in Galena.
