Beautiful waterfalls, breath-taking overlooks, wooded trails, and peaceful picnic areas – Little River Canyon has something for everyone. The Little River is unique because it flows for most of its length atop Lookout Mountain in northeast Alabama. The 15,288 acre preserve spans from Fort Payne, Alabama down to Cedar Bluff, Alabama. The Visitor Center is located on AL Hwy 35. The entrance is located on the left just before you cross the AL Hwy 35 Bridge (Fort Payne side). For more information, click here.

Little River Canyon is made up of forested uplands, waterfalls, canyon rims and bluffs, pools, boulders, and sandstone cliffs offer settings for a variety of recreational activities. Natural resources and cultural heritage come together to tell the story of the Preserve, a special place in the Southern Appalachians.

Little River Canyon is open year-round from sunrise to sunset! This is a day use only park and camping is prohibited. Make a note that phone service is not available with the canyon and many other parts of the park. Free WIFI is available in the Little River Canyon Center.

Fishing is allowed anywhere along Little River inside the Preserve if you have a valid Alabama or Non-Resident Fishing License. Children under 16 and adults over 65 are exempt from a fishing license.

Little River Canyon National Preserve offers some of the most difficult and sought-after climbing routes in the South. The sandstone cliffs featured in Little River Canyon are accessible from many roadside pullouts along the Little River Canyon Rim Parkway (Highway 176). Bouldering is also very popular at Little River Canyon.

There is literally something for everyone!

This family & senior friendly campground features easy access for large R.V. units, level sites, chipped & sealed roads and sites that include 30/50 amps & water or full service hook-ups. This new campground in Kentucky is already a couple of years old, but that doesn’t make it any less spectacular! Although relatively small Kentucky Splash Water-Park and Campground, is still an amazing place to camp. Kentucky Splash Water-Park and Campground is located at 1050 Hwy 92 W. in Williamsburg, Kentucky. For more information, click here.

Kentucky Splash Water-Park and Campground has just 25 RV sites with full hook-ups and six basic tent sites. This smaller campground is perfect for those trying to get away from the world. At some campgrounds with 100’s of camp sites guests are packed in as many as they can get. The Hal Rogers Family Entertainment Center is home to the Kentucky Splash Water Park and Campground. The center includes an 18,000 sq. ft. wave pool, a lazy river, a kiddy activity pool plus a triple slide complex and a double slide tower!

The kids will enjoy the new Tadpole Island. All the kids will have plenty of summer fun in our 6,000 square feet kiddy activity pool on Tadpole Island. This kiddy activity pool features a Caribbean Themed Adventure  300-gallon bucket that dumps water every 30 seconds. There are floor bubblers and a seal slide for the little ones.. Since our pool is only 12 inches deep it is a great place for kids 54 inches or smaller to play.

The Spook Cave Campground is a local favorite, and even somewhat of a hidden gem. The campground has RV, Tent, and Cabin sites available! Spook Cave Campground is located at 13299 Spook Cave Rd, in McGregor, Iowa. For more information on to reserve your stay, click here.

While the campground is amazing all by itself, it has become somewhat famous for its legendary Spook Cave Boat Tour.  On a boat ride through Spook Cave, the tour guides tell about the discovery and development of the cave. Formations are also pointed out and described. There is no walking involved, and tours last about 35 minutes. The tour is underground and out of the weather where the temperature is always 47°F.

The Spook Cave Campground is nestled along side Bloody Run Trout Stream, natural beauty surrounds the campground at Spook Cave. There is a spot for all kinds of campers here whether you are looking to rough it in the spacious non hook up tent sites, or want a value-priced water and electric site, or need one of the family-friendly, full hookup sites.
