The Shawnee Hills Glamping Retreat is a luxury camping dome that offers a unique and memorable way to experience the great outdoors. The Cascade Falls Aquatic Center is a bit of a hidden gem in Iowa, with most of the attention going to the states bigger attractions, but like I said this is a hidden gem and there is plenty of bang for your buck! With 21,880 sq. ft. of water surface area there is plenty of room for everyone!

One of my favorite features is the heated pool, keeping water temps a perfect 78 degrees all season long! There is also a FlowRider surf machine, an amazing lazy river, a lap pool, diving well and drop slide, and my personal favorite the high dive!

Other outside features include a private deck with outdoor seating and swinging bridge to a private deck in the tree top. This is a perfect place to start the day with your morning cup of coffee.

The grounds at Branson Treehouse Adventures, feels much more like a campground then a resort. There is a playground, basketball court, volleyball net, and swimming pool . The pool is open Memorial Day To Labor Day.

The  Little Rocky Hollow State Nature Preserve is a tiny 256 acre nature preserve in Ohio. The physical address is 17440 Kreashbaum Rd, in Rockbridge, Ohio. Entrance to the Little Rocky Hollow State Nature Preserve will require a permit, however it is easy to obtain. you can do so by clicking here.

The preserve may only be 256 acres however I hiked well over 7 miles exploring the area. There is one main access trail to enter the park, after that just follow the creek past waterfall after waterfall. I counted at least 6 significant waterfalls and several other smaller falls.

As mentioned above the Little Rocky Hollow State Nature Preserve requires a permit to hike and explore the area. However,  the permit gives you up to a 10-day window to visit, so take advantage of this and plan your trip at the best possible time!

Trails aren’t well marked in the area so plan on doing a little bit of bushwacking as you explore that preserve. The area has numerous hollows to explore and each one is special in its own way, so allow yourself ample time to visit.

As is the case with most Southern Ohio waterfalls, they  can dry up pretty quick, so plan your visit after a good rainfall. Little Rocky Hollow State Nature Preserve is absolutely beautiful even when the falls dry up.
