Hammocks Beach State Park isn’t just one continuous stretch of land. It encompasses three distinct island areas:
* Bear Island: The crown jewel of the park, this 4-mile-long barrier island boasts undeveloped beaches, rolling dunes adorned with sea oats, and a sense of serene isolation. Please note that as of April 2025, the ferry service and all facilities on Bear Island are temporarily closed due to a major construction project.
