This area has a small picturesque mountain stream with waterfalls, rocks, and bluffs. There is access to the Richland Creek Wilderness Area. 11 family camping units. Because of very rough roads, visitors are not encouraged to take camping trailers to Richland Creek.

Located near the town of Snowball, Richland Creek Wilderness is a 35,000-acre preserve that boasts crystal-clear streams, scenic hiking trails, and picturesque campsites. Visitors can immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature, surrounded by towering trees, rolling hills, and an abundance of wildlife.

The campground has 11 sites available for a quiet retreat. Water is available seasonally (it’s currently shut off for winter) and vault toilets are on site. Sites are $10/day. This is one campground that will help you reconnect with nature.

One of the most appealing aspects of Richland Creek Wilderness is its primitive camping experience. With no hookups or amenities, campers can truly disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. The area offers several dispersed campsites, each providing a secluded and peaceful spot to set up camp.

Hikers can explore over 20 miles of trails, ranging from easy to challenging, which take them through scenic valleys, across streams, and to the top of rugged hills. Anglers can try their luck in the crystal-clear waters, which are home to a variety of fish species. Directions: From Russellville take Arkansas 7 north for 37 miles to Pelsor, then turn right (east) on Arkansas 16 and go 10 miles, then turn left (north) on Forest Service Road 1205 (gravel)., which is located 1.5 miles south of Ben Hur. Take Forest Service Road 1205 (gravel) north 9 miles to Richland Creek.
