Beach Area and Water Activities The park’s beach area is its crown jewel, featuring a mile-long stretch of sandy shoreline perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. The calm waters of Lake Michigan make it an ideal spot for kayaking, paddleboarding, and canoeing. Rent equipment on-site or bring your own to explore the lake.

Hiking and Exploration Beyond the beach, Petoskey State Park offers several hiking trails, ranging from easy to challenging, that wind through forests and scenic overlooks. The 3.5-mile Old Baldy Trail takes hikers to the highest point in the park, offering panoramic views of Lake Michigan. Nature lovers can spot wildlife, including white-tailed deer and bald eagles.
