The 9-4 Iowa State Cyclones return to the mat on Sunday February 9th to take on Pittsburg in Ames Iowa At 1 pm. The dual features 15 ranked wrestlers, with 6  head to head ranked matches. You can tune in live on ESPN+.

History: Iowa State leads the series with 7 wins to 3 losses. Iowa State has won the last 4 meetings. As usual Pennsylvania teams fall short when competing against Iowa teams in wrestling.

Conclusion: At the beginning of the year, this dual wouldn’t even of been close. Iowa State would of ran away with this one. The way things currently stand. It’s a toss up. In all honesty i’m not even sure who will take the mat for the Cyclones. The line-up is riddled with injuries, and others missing without much explanation. As things are I see Iowa State winning 6 of the 10 bouts and winning the dual 19-14.

The dual features 13 ranked wrestlers, with 4 total head to head ranked matches. but teams have struggled with injuries this year, and the dual looks a lot different now from when it was first announced.

Don’t Miss: In my opinion, the 125 and 149 bouts should be the most entertaining of the night.

Don’t Miss: 149,157, and 184 will all be exciting! 149 is a rematch of last years NCAA 5th place bout.  All three of these could go either way,

Keys To Victory:   Iowa just needs to wrestle their best, if they do that and win the matches that favor them, they should emerge victorious. For Nebraska, they will need to pull an upset, they have potential to accomplish that at 57, and 84. They will also need to score bonus points in the matches that favor them. Two of Nebraska’s highest ranked competitors will be facing new faces in the Iowa lineup, so the opportunity is there.
