Situated near the headwaters of the Homosassa River, the property features over 200 feet of riverfront on nearly an acre of land, a private lagoon and a water slide for young and old alike.

The house features two wings that share a large common area in between. This allows large families or multiple families to vacation together yet still have their own space. A substantial butcher block table counter provides seating for up to 10 and multiple tables and chairs are available on the screened porch, large deck and patio.

The home features a 600 square foot raised outdoor deck that provides breathtaking views of the riverfront and is the perfect platform for outdoor cooking and gathering. A gas grill and propane are provided for your convenience. A water level patio provides shade and a great place to enjoy meals at the water’s edge.


The clear shallow spring-fed river (72 degrees year-round) allows for great snorkeling and viewing of schools of fish and of course, manatee! In season, manatee are routinely seen in the backyard and the rental includes 4 kayaks and 2 SUP (Standup Paddleboards) for exploring the river and exploring the springs.

Spend evenings around your choice of 2 available fire pits, one which can be enjoyed from the backyard patio and the other near the river’s edge for a more rustic experience. The property also features a private boatwell that can accommodate boats up to 25 feet in length comfortably.

The 4-3 Iowa State Cyclones return to the mat on Wednesday January 8th to take on #17 West Virginia in Morgantown West Virginia. The dual features 16 ranked wrestlers, with 5 total head to head ranked matches.  The match-up of the night takes place at 149 as its a battle of two top wrestlers.

History: Iowa State leads the series with 21 wins to 2 losses. Included in that run is a 6 match win streak enjoyed by the Cyclones.

Keys To Victory: Iowa State is favored in 7 of the 10 matches, They need to win those and hopefully pick up a win at 174 as well. West Virginia needs to win the 3 matches that favor them  and possibly pickup bonus points at 141, and 165.

Conclusion: I have Iowa State taking 7 of the 10 bouts, and picking up bonus points at 157. Taking a 23-10 victory over a tough West Virginia team. Lots of unknowns still exist for Iowa State, they are still dealing with injuries and a few wrestlers are shifting weight classes. It will be interesting to see how the dual takes shape.

Kolomoki Mounds State Park in Georgia Is A Great Place To Hike, Fish, Camp, and Swim

Serene wiregrass scenes and sacred ground shaped by the Indigenous community that once thrived at Kolomoki Mounds State Park nearly 2000 years ago continues to attract those wishing to experience the Lower Chattahoochee River Valley’s scenic and cultural legacy at the Civilian Conservation Corps built park that welcomes today’s visitor. The park is open daily from 7 am to 10 pm and is located at 205 Indian Mounds Road in Blakely, Georgia. For more information, click here.

This historically significant park is the oldest and largest Woodland Indian site in the southeastern United States, occupied by Native Americans from 350 to 900 C.E. Mound A is the largest Woodland-period platform mound in Eastern North America, standing 57-feet high, it dominates two smaller burial mounds and several ceremonial mounds. Kolomoki Mounds is also known for its wide range of outdoor activities. Two lakes provide fishing and boating, and a campground is nestled under hardwoods and pines. Hikers can choose from three scenic trails. The Spruce Pine Trail offers views of lakes Yohola and Kolomoki, while the Trillium Trail and White Oak Trail meander through the forest. Children will enjoy the playground, pedal boats and miniature golf.

Plan A Visit To One Of The South’s Tallest Waterfalls, At High Falls State Park In Georgia

Marvel at the tallest cascading waterfall south of Atlanta at High Falls State Park, where you can revel in nostalgic recreational pastimes, investigate a rich cultural timeline and natural backdrop, while you throw a line in High Falls Lake which is recognized as one of the nation’s top family fishing destinations. Located northwest of Macon, High Falls State Park is named for tumbling cascades on the Towaliga River. Boat rental, ramps and fishing docks provide easy access to the park’s lake, known as one of Georgia’s top fishing spots for hybrid and white bass.

Overnight visitors can choose from a spacious campground or lakeside yurts, which are like canvas and wood tents. Visitors can hike along the river’s edge and through hilly forest to the remains of a hydroelectric power plant foundation. In the early 1800s, this area was a prosperous industrial town with several stores, a grist mill, cotton gin, blacksmith shop, shoe factory and hotel. High Falls fell from prosperity in the 1880s when a major railroad bypassed it. Today, the park is a popular camping destination and a relaxing side trip for travelers on I-75.

The park is 1,050 acres with a beautiful 650 acre lake. There are also 6 yurts, 106 tent sites, as well as trailer and RV sites! Popular activities enjoyed at the park include: Hiking, fishing, boating, mini golf, weddings, geocaching, and kayaking!
