Bear Creek Cabins were established in 2003 and is a family owned business, located in Highlandville Iowa, just south of the Minnesota border. This heavily wooded area is an outdoor paradise featuring 9 absolutely breathtaking cabins, as well as a large campground featuring 12 sites with electricity, and 10 primitive sites! The campground also offers fishing boat, kayak, and canoe, rentals, and has a general store for all your fishing, hunting, and grocery needs.

The area has been described as a fishing and hunting Adventure waiting to happen. The Bear Creek Cabins are located only a short walk, from the North and South Bear streams, which are the #1 and #2 ranked trout streams in the entire state. If trout fishing is not your thing, the upper Iowa river is only a few miles away, and is loaded with bass, walleye, and northern!

Looking for a new place to hunt? Look no further. The Highlandville area has over 1,000 acres of public hunting land. The North Bear public land has some of the best whitetail and turkey hunting Iowa has to offer.

  6. Last year we visited Grumpsters, then we saw this article and decided to check out bear creek. Glad we did very lovely cabins and grounds and the store has everything. We will be checking your suggestions from now on.

  9. We really enjoyed staying here. Beautiful cabins and a great atmosphere as well. Only complaint i had was the steep walkways from the cabins. Other then that this place was perfect.

  10. Could never afford to stay in the cabins but i have camped here several times great place friendly people. Wish they had somewhere to swim. Maybe someday when i get a real job i will be able to stay in a cabin. But its tent life untill then.

  11. We have never stayed here, but we visited friends in the Eagles Nest. Beautiful cabins and the boys had a big night fishing too.

  22. Beautiful cabin, but not really a good place to bring kiddos. Nothing for them to do. Next time we visit it will just be me and the hubby. Can’t wait.
